Hip Osteoarthritis - What You Need to Know

Hip osteoarthritis is a common type of osteoarthritis. Since the hip is a weightbearing joint, osteoarthritis can cause significant problems. About 1 in 4 Americans can expect to develop osteoarthritis of the hip during their lifetime, according to research presented at the 2006 American College of Rheumatology annual meeting.

Hip osteoarthritis cannot be cured, but there are treatments available to help manage symptoms.
