Osteo Bi-Flex - A Dietary Supplement
Osteo Bi-Flex is a dietary supplement containing glucosamine and chondroitin -- supplements which are used to treat knee osteoarthritis by improving joint comfort, joint flexibility, and joint mobility. There are four strengths of Osteo Bi-Flex:
- Regular Strength
- Double Strength
- Plus MSM
- Triple Strength
Regular Strength Osteo Bi-Flex is made with naturally sourced glucosamine and chondroitin. The recommended dose is 6 caplets per day which can be taken at the same time or spread out through the day. Per 6 caplets, regular strength Osteo Bi-Flex contains 1,500 mg glucosamine and 1,200 mg chondroitin.
Double Strength Osteo Bi-Flex requires that you take 3 caplets a day together or spread out through the day. Double Strength Osteo Bi-Flex gives you the same daily dose of glucosamine and chondroitin contained in 6 regular strength Osteo Bi-Flex caplets -- but in just 3 caplets.
Osteo Bi-Flex plus MSM requires that you take 4 caplets per day together or spread out. Per 4 caplets, Osteo Bi-Flex plus MSM contains 1,500 mg glucosamine, 1,200 mg chondroitin, and 1,000 mg MSM.
Triple Strength Osteo Bi-Flex requires that you take only 2 caplets a day together or spread out through the day. Triple Strength Osteo Bi-Flex gives you the same daily dose of glucosamine and chondroitin contained in 6 regular strength Osteo Bi-Flex caplets -- but in just 2 caplets
Osteo Bi-Flex Advanced formula contains glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, manganese, and vitamin C, plus "Joint Shield." The key ingredient in Joint Shield is a potent extract of Boswellia serrata called 5-Loxin -- 10 times more concentrated than typical Boswellia extracts.
Is Osteo Bi-Flex Superior to Other Brands?
Osteo Bi-Flex remains the only brand to feature ingredients in combination with Joint Shield and the patent-pending ingredient 5-Loxin. According to the manufacturer of Osteo Bi-Flex, Joint Shield with 5-Loxin works to guard against the action of enzymes that affect joint health. The FDA, which does not regulate dietary supplements, has not confirmed these claims.
Also, unlike many other brands, Osteo Bi-Flex products utilize the HCl form of glucosamine. Clinical trials suggest various forms of glucosamine may differ in their ability to help arthritis symptoms.
Osteo Bi-Flex was the #1 physician recommended brand of glucosamine and chondroitin, according to results of the National Disease and Therapeutic Index report, March 2008.
