An occupational therapy program, such as activity strategy training, can help you determine what it is that's keeping you from being more active. Whether it's a physical limitation or an environmental barrier -- overcoming that limitation or barrier should allow you to increase your level of physical activity. Share Your Experience

Living with Arthritis at 52

I have severe Arthritis in my right hip I now have to use a walker. I am very upset I can no longer drive myself to Starbucks or go rent a movie without a family member taking me. No more going to the grocery store, I am home most of the time mostly b/c of the pain. It's easy just to stay home. I'm hoping I can get over this depression and think more positive. This has happened all too fast for me after a hip clean out, arthritis set in. Only time will tell. I know when I get a good night's sleep I feel better that doesn't happen very often. I'm taking one day at a time.

Invaluable

They were invaluable after knee replacement surgery. OT's really helped me navigate my house despite postop restrictions.
