From the article: What Is Osteoarthritis?
What is osteoarthritis? That's probably what you asked when your doctor said you have the condition. How did your doctor explain osteoarthritis to you so that it finally clicked -- and you could honestly say you understood?

For example, did you discuss the differences between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis -- or the differences between osteoarthritis and other types of arthritis? Share your experience.

osteoarthritis??

I was just told that I had it in my hip and that is what is likely causing the pain in my leg and knee and ankle as well. DR. told me to take extra strength tylenol 4x a day, and try swimming or strength training. I am in pain alot of the time, and need some natural treatments, as I am not comfortable taking meds all the time!! help please!!!

how did your dr. explain osteoarthritis

My doctor explained that unfortunately I had developed at an early age lots of degenerating joints. No cure for it. No reason for having it at such a young age. Try Tylenol and physical therapy. I did this 8 surgeries and 8 years ago.

Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis

On the same day I was diagnosed with both osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. The names are so similar, I constantly get them mixed up...even though my doctor explained each condition thoroughly. He explained well but I still confuse the two conditions.
