An easy-to-use can opener is a valuable kitchen tool for anyone. For arthritis patients who have hand pain or weak grip strength, a good can opener is a must-have. What do I mean by a "good can opener"? It's a can opener that is lightweight, durable, easy-to-use, and if it is designed for hands-free operation -- well, that's the frosting on the cake.

Because simple tasks are difficult for those of us living with arthritis pain and limitations, assistive devices and arthritis-friendly equipment are a big deal. Check out these suggestions for Arthritis-Friendly Can Openers.

As a librarian/editor, I wince whenever I see a typo in the world, so I do a LOT of wincing. Your site has been pretty good so far but in the current newsletter you have a section “Hand Arthritis: 3 sites on the hand are most EFFECTED” — that should be AFFECTED. Know it’s a minor change but it’s a blow for good language — hope that you can change the spelling……

Sometimes when weary from writing and editing our own copy, there’s a mistake. Thanks for writing and pointing that out….we’ll be even more careful. And thanks for saying you don’t find much of that on our site. Our goal is for it to be “none”. :)
